I just seen on H&C that Hannity and some guest was bitching about NBC not running some ad. Now doesn’t NBC have the right to not run an ad if they don't want to, this is still a free country right or supposedly a free country. I didn't know that it is against the law not too run an ad. I can't believe I actually stopped flipping through channels to watch them. :o

Yep, it's a free country and Hannity has the right to bitch about NBC not running some ad. This is still a free country right or supposedly a free country.

I guess you caught that in mid stream. It was a political ad and yes they do. However, they can't be selective about which political ads they will accept and which they will reject. Below is the crux of the discussion.
"NBC asked us to re-vamp our Web site. They wanted to censor us, and we said, 'No we're not going to be censored,'" Blakeman said, noting that the organization's Web site points to more than 20 other non-profit Web sites where readers can thank and support troops.
NBC also objected to using images including military uniforms and vehicles and asked for proof of government approval for the group's use of the images in its ads.
Freedom's Watch says it has never been questioned on that before and paid for the rights to use the images from an independent licensing company.
E-mails provided to FOX show that NBC also might have objected to the ads on its in-house issue advertising policy.

There is no law that says a network must be politically neutral...they just like to create the illusion to the public that they are politically neutral.
If NBC or whoever does not like the political slant of a campaign ad for example, then they are not required to run it.
What frustrates people is the networks pretend to be neutral, but it shows through that they are not when they refuse to run such an ad.
Just as a network has the right to not run an ad, Sean Hannity has every right under the First Amendment to bitch about this.

If NBC or whoever does not like the political slant of a campaign ad for example,
that depends. if a station or network accepts political ads for a specific campaign, they must accept all political ads for that campaign and must do so without altering the content.
If NBE does noy want to post bulllshit why should it. They have little stake in the outcome. They probably found lies in the add and sad no way losers

They were only refusing the run the highly controversial Freedom Watch propaganda ads.
Good for them. It's about time the media stopped drumming the adminstrations war marches... because the media doing exactly that and not offering a different perspective in 2002-2003 (including NBC) had a hand in the mess we are currently in.
BTW, NBC yesterday has since agreed to run the PAC's (who is by the way is run pretty much exclusivley by ex Bush adminstration officials) ammended ad after it conceeded to the changes NBC asked for.
Freedom Watch group uses some the same tactics people you claim to hate like Hugo Chavez uses on the media. It is purely this adminstraion cramming more bullshit down your throats in the name of "freedom".
I have a clue for you clueless out there..."Freedom" includes the freedom specifically spelled out in the first ammendment of a little thing called The Bill of Rights for a free press that does not have to do the bidding for our politicians... unlike in Venezeula.
Tell me exactly how much bullshit can y'all swallow and for how long? Maybe you can get in Guinness.. becuase the majority of the american public choked on it a long time ago... you guys are champions at swallowing...maybe y'all are related to Ms. Lovelace?

You mean you think people may not be totally truthful in ads? I'm sure Billy Mays, (or Billy Bull Shitter as I like to call him) never stretches the truth in his TV commercials. Is your name Polly Anna by any chance?

I got the Lovelace innuendo but Guinness? (Stout ale?) You'll have to snow some more because I didn't get your drift on that one.

World Book of Records... Duh.
I didn't choke on anythng and I'm an American public. :o
exactly... you are an exception worthy of Guiness.
What I find funny is that H&C would feature something like this about a topic that doesn’t even affect their own network. Who cares? They actually probably gave NBC some publicity by even discussing the topic. I don’t understand that logic. If NBC doesn’t want to broadcast an ad, they don’t have to.

The average IQ is 100 for the American public.
I am tempted to post a poll to see how many think your over or under your standard. :D
Maybe another poll to see if it was a baseball hotdog you swallowed whole without a blink.

Gosh, Heyhey badmouthing people, insulting their intelligence and dropping a little homsexual innuendo after complaining about 30 bajillion times about people badmouthing her and using sexual innuendo, mixed in with a couple of semi-coherent blathering posts by our functionally illiterate friend Bob. What else could I possibly ask for?

I suppose that it would be just fine with you for them to run a bunch of Moveon.org propaganda ads?

Morons.org :)
Yup, that would pretty much describe them and the people who believe them.

when have you ever seen me quote. reference or support moveon.org?
.
I think move-on is a fringe group that does damage to my party... as I think freedom watch does to yours...
The difference however in these ads are who is behind them..
move-on.org is a group made up of liberals from all factions who like to bash and hate Rebpbulicans... they are what they are.. and everyone including you can take them at face value... and make them as cerdible as you wish. I certainly will take move-on.org commericals with a grain of salt... I know what they are up to and like any other PAC it is sheer politics...
The Freedom Watch ads however are in many ways more insiduous and dangerous as they are a front group propganda outlet to promote the policy of the adminstration.. you know like what Hilter used? or Remember the propaganda minster Saddam had that little nut with the glasses?
I'd be nervous about an organization like freedom watch no matter what party was behind it... because I beleive in truth and transparency in goverment and would like my president to give his own arguement for the issues he tries to ram down our throats...unless you dont mind Hudo Chavez style TV here in the US.
Bush certianly is able to have free airtime anytime he chooses to give us his argument.. with a simple phone call all the stations block time for him to address the nation. Why be sneaky about it?

Probably not ever, but your insulting names for the President and VP (commander-in-thief, Darth Vader, etc) puts you right there in their company.
What proof do you have that Freedoms Watch is a front group for the Administration? That actually sounds like something that came from Moveon! Because they promote conservative principals? This is from their website "Freedom’s Watch distinguishes itself as the first full-time nonpartisan movement dedicated to preserving, protecting, and defending conservative principles and promoting a conservative agenda." I know, they can say anything, but I don't think they are any more insidious than Moveon. At least they aren"t screaming hatred 24 hours a day.
You're right that moveon has hurt the democrat party. They provide so much money that politicians on the left have to kiss up to them or risk their rath. Somehow I don't think Freedoms Watch controls much direct funding, although they do have a large ad budget.
