We are supposed to take seriously news from a source called the Daily Democrat?

Perhaps it is not yet time to start putting pressure on Al Sadr.

I don't think we have put much pressure on the situation as a whole. The politicians are too frightened of the liberal press to do much of anything. They pretty much make their decisions according to the poll numbers. Bunch of pussies.

Well, the no-pressure approach has sort of been the Iraqi administration's game plan so far.
The Iraqi president has been sitting back and letting Sadr's men systematically kill off all the young Sunni males they can get their hands on. Basically, Sadr and his thugs are trying to kill off a whole generation of potential Sunnis fighters so that Al Queda won't be able to use them.
There has been much speculation that the Iraqi president would step in once Sadr's men have killed off enough Sunnis. For the last few weeks it certainly looked tha way because the Iraqi president had been stepping up the anti-Sadr rhetoric. After this latest attack (which was clearly the work of Al Queda), there may be a good chance Sadr will be given a free hand for a bit longer.
It isn't clear to me whether this no-pressure approach has really been working all that well. Only time will tell I guess.

Do you have any factual support for your anger?
By they way, the basic story was from the AP. The name of the newspaper is irrelevant.

The Iraqi Government is controlled by the Shia. The Shia hate the Sunnis. They have for about 1300 years. they don't want to share oil with them. They don't mind seeing Sunnis exterminated.
Before we invaded the Sunnis had the upper hand. We reversed that.
We should be surprised that the Shia are wacking every Sunni they can find? Why? That is what ethnic hatred is all about. Remember Iraq isn't a natural country. It was cobbled together by the British after WWI from three different ethnic areas.
The no pressure approach is the President's idea. Got a problem with it take it up with the Administration.
Telling the Iraqis we are going to leave if they don't straighten things is one way we can put pressure on the Iraqi government.

This one should frost everybody. It seems the Mahdi Army is using the US army as it's supply depot. (http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington/16600612.htm) If you can't fight them, join them.
