The Senate's earmarking bill is a watered down version of the Houses's. So the GOP took the DNC's own House version and add it as an amendment to the Senates's bill.

The DNC senators reflexively opposed the GOP amendment. Not a big surprise, but very dissapointing. The DNC, at least in the Senate, doesn't appear to be very serious about their campaign promises.

If Democrats are as thinking as they say they are, they should be just as pissed off at their representatives as the Republicans obviously were with their's. This Congress is proving to be a joke, just as the last one.

Man, we need to clean house on at least half of that group and start from scratch. And, trust me, I'm not referring to the Democrat half. The problems are all over both sides of the aisle.

That scumbag Reid has given up in his fight against earmarking reform:

Fire everyone and their aids and advisors and lobbyists and staff...thats the only way I see that would work. Of course the voters are too oblivious to the institutionalized corruption on both sides of the aisle to do such a thing. The mainstream press only likes to point out one side of it..which does not help things either.

how come none of you spoke out like this when the Republicans had control of congress and attached more earmarks to bills (also by the way that were not vetoed by the Republican president) then any congress in history???

Just joined...no time to point out all the hypocrisies....

Just you wait! :)

Hah...just thinking about about one hypocrisy. Mexico complaining to the US about our closed border. Yet no mention of Mexico's border to the south where they shoot at Guatamalan immigrants attempting to cross. All hell would break loose if we attempted to shoot immigrants.. (which I think would be a really stupid thing to even think about).
