Jeez, you would think the Dems think this guy wears sandals and walks on water.
Obama is certainly not a bad guy, but come on, he's a newb and that means no real track record. At this point, this guy is mostly image.

Which is exactly what it takes to win the presidency. Who had heard of Clinton (outside of Arkansas) before he ran for president. It is all about image which is why the Dems are drooling over Obama. Senators with long track records don't win presidential elections.

I personally like the guy alot and would consider voting for him, but I think I'm going to be wary and see if this guy is the real deal or just a flavor of the month until '08. Heck, when '08 comes, everything can change in only a few days during a presidential election cycle.

Dris you know how the Senate works... how votes really work... and how voting records can be spinned totally out of reality in campaigns... someone doesnt vote for a bill because there is something they really disagree in it that means more then the thing they agree with in the bill then... in a 30 second ad the candidate as portrayed as being for or against something they really aren't...it's an intricate dance and unfortunately very very few Senators make it to 1600 Penn because of exactly this....
He might do better fresh... without years of a voting record that unless one actually watches c-span 24x7 cannot be fully appreciated.
I think he isnt ready because he is so fresh for another reason... I think he is too honest and has too much integrity... to green for the beltway to have the chutzbah to fight it out with other more seasoned and tainted members of his party.... to get the adequate fund raising...
I was though impressed when Rick Warren (as in The Purpose Driven Life Rick Warren) invited him to speak last weak... I think he is really an alternative for Evangelicals then the hard right....
you should read "The Audacity of Hope".... I think newb or not you too will be impressed by this guy...I think he could wait some... but who knows if the cards fall just right he may be a viable candidate in 08. .... if not at least as veep...
the black horse in this campaign (no pun intended) is not Obama.... have you seen what Edwards is showing as in Iowa???
