poopoo'd when they talk about a "biased" media. Well, here is a good example (http://www.newsobserver.com/114/story/467026.html).

They are remodeling...GASP....horrors of horrors....
Do you really think words/phrases like:
Exile
"...could also enable the Bush administration to take its message directly to the people, circumventing the journalists in the room."
"plans for the new quarters are not complete even as demolition begins today has fueled speculation about the White House's real agenda."
Real neutral story there, eh William?
No ax to grind there, eh William?
The conservative point of view is that obvious heavy handed bias only rears its head rarely...but this small subtle things, believe or not are far more impactful.
Communication studies have shown that long term persuasion requires small, incremental moves fueled by small, non-obtrusive and not obviously manipulative messages. this is a really good example. A fairly unimportant article and on a failry unimportant topic (albeit placed on the front page) yet loaded with all sorts of non-verbal messages.
