Could it be aggravated by a lack of faith in Bush?

i don't see much evidence of that. the president's power over the economy on a short-term basis is pretty small. And the only real effect they have on the long-term basis is dependant on what type of laws are passed and/or regulations.
besides, most the people I've talked to think he's doing a pretty decent job. my grandfather, who thought that clinton could do no wrong and that reagan was the anti-christ, have even told me he thought he's done a good job so far. a bunch of editorialists in the NY Post were saying similar things, and they come from the same political persuasion that my grandfather did.
Spend more time with your wise grandfather. You may want to print some of these debates for him. :)
With Cheney likely to keel over at any time I think the investers are wary.
We will recover by the end of the year as Bushs plans are modified by democrats twords sane measures before being passed.

Yeah, they sure are being effective so far. They've got Democrats going against the Democrat's own tax plan. The party is so disorganized that they won't get anywhere. Bush is running circles around them, and I don't really expect the tax plan to be watered down much as a result.
