Hollywood star Johnny Depp (news) said on Wednesday the United States was a stupid, aggressive puppy and he would not live there until the political climate changed.

"My daughter is four, my boy is one. I'd like them to see America as a toy, a broken toy. Investigate it a little, check it out, get this feeling and then get out," said the star of the off-beat films "Edward Scissorhan...

Agreed.
I would be on a plane to France tonight if I could have Vanessa Paradis in my bed.

Actually if one flees to Iraq ...etc, they risk being labeled as a traitor.
Guess we will need to remove the righties. We managed for a long time in California to keep them out. Now you righties know why I do not support any more laws on gun control. ;)

MC have patience. This place was trashed not long ago by unreadable posts.
Until the old trouble makers are weeded out some "odd" rules or decisions will be made. Just trust that it is for the greater good and are not directed at you.
Post content - even though many here are far to the right I can say your content of your posts will NEVER be changed and a well thought out post will NEVER be removed on purpose.

How can someone who chooses to live in a country like France call the U.S. dumb? Have you ever done a Google search for French Military Victories and press the I Feel Lucky button?
Personally I think France and Depp deserve each other and good riddance. I wonder if he dislikes America so much that he would give up the revenue from his U.S. produced movies?
By the way, if he has become a French citizen, he pays no U.S. income taxes.
Yes dumb is hard to understand in French (sourd-muet). How about stupide or retardé - get it?

:) :) :) :D
Dris,
Are you trying to be like a "dumb puppy" to post this?
Or naive? or "narrow-minded fool?...or...or?
I've thought better of you.
Johnny Depp is no difference than your "intelligent & beautiful girlfriend from Russia".
Do you judge her for leaving Russia and coming to US same way you judge Johnny Depp leaving US for France? Johnny Depp has some political issues with US(is it wrong?), your g/f might not be able to buy a bread in Cheliabinsk. Should I judge her? or anyone else, yourself incl.?
She didn't leave for political reasons, that's I'm sure. I'm reading a book by Jelena Tregubova- a journalist that worked in Kremlin, and her apt. in Moscow was blown up. However she didn't leave Russia.
If you want to move, why do you think, there could be only 2 reasons to move to another country- either political or economical? Does your "american democracy" about? If people don't like something, why should be judged the way you or other do? "Almighty dollar"? "Perfect Democracy of US"?
I'm sure, some did judge your g/f when she moved from Russia to US the same way you do judge Johnny Depp. Think about. Don't try to act like some narrow-minded fool.
I can give you more like Johnny Depp, if it's about political an US case: Roger Waters ex-Pink Floyd (you must hate him), many Heavy Metal, Classic Rock artists. Artists have a brighter vision than most people do.
They both- Johnny Depp & your russian g/f did THE SAME. One for one reason, another for another reason.
Bottom line...neither Jonny Depp did anything wrong or your g/f.
People who will judge either of them- are wrong.

Not only so I think Johnny Depp is the most beautiful man in the world... take it from a woman he is gorgeous... he makes sense politcally.. so does most of Hollywood.. and I thank God they and other world Celebrities use their fame to endorse human rights advocacy world wide.
I liked the Oscars the other night.. the Academy.. you know made up of Hollywood folk seemed not to nominate and embelish blockbuster thoughtless movies.. but Hollywood takes on some of the most crucial issues of our time head on and brings them into theatres and living rooms world wide...
look at the some of the flims that won awards.. Crash, The Constant Gardner, Brokeback Mountain...
I'm sorry but whether or not they have degrees in history or politics or world diplomacy... hollywood and the artistic world in general are ahead of the mainstream as I see it in setting priorities on world issues.... they were against this horrible war, thery fight for hungy and needy people around the world and are spokespeople for goodwill and put popular a face on it idiots who could care less might even identify with....
Thank God for hollywood.. thank God for the Jonny Depps, Bono's, Susan Sarandon's, Harry Belafonte's, Sean Penn's, Angelina Jolies', George Clooney's, Tim Robbins's, Barbara Striesand's, Paul Newmans, Rob Reiner, Michael Moore's, etc etc of this world... they bring balance... finally someone rich and famous speaks out for little people becuase our political leaders and corporate executives sure the hell never will....
