There are people that beleive in ghosts

I won't try and spook everyone, but I believe in them. When I was around 14 I was laying in the living room floor watching TV with my entire family. Everyone was behind me sitting in couches, chairs, etc. right next to the entertainment center there was an opening to a short hallway that led to the upstairs and downstairs entrances. As I sat there totally enthralled in the program I was watching, out of nowhere I heard a female voice call my name in a very airy (almost like a loud whisper) voice. It happened twice within a 15 second period. The first time I sat up and looked at the family. They all looked at me with an expression on their faces as if they were trying to say "What?". Seconds later when I heard it the second time and was able to positively determine where the sound originated from (the hallway previously mentioned) I got chills and scooted over by the foot of my dad's chair. He was freaking out, as he could tell by the look on my face and the tears streaming from my eyes that I was very upset and scared! He jumped up and walked through the house with his pistol drawn. (Dad doesn't believe in anything he can't shoot or smack around LOL). Not finding anything, he calmed down and dismissed the whole thing.

I tell you, I can still hear that voice just as clearly in my mind as the moment it happened. I have absolutely no explanation of this event except for a possible ghost.

I find it best to believe in everything (ghosts, aliens, elves, etc.). That way I'm covered not matter what.

I believe the "...in my mind..." part provides the explanation.

If ghosts were able to generate sound waves, which is a mechanical, physical phenomenon, it seems likely that we would be able to detect and describe such an interface (vocal cords?) with the "spirit world". Since no one else heard it, it's probable that no sound occurred.

What you can still hear is a replay of the flawed model of your universe that your mind had created for you at that moment. A hallucination.

I don't know about ghosts, but "dead people" sure do.

Hmmmmm....well that WOULD explain the odd smell eminating from some of the people I meet. I just thought it was bad hygiene on their part.
