Well the verdict's in Ms Ryder found guilty of grand theif and vandalism.
I don't understand why someone of her celeb status would want to do such a thing considering all the money she already has.
My mother always said you do the crime you do the time, I have always lived by this rule and have told my own kids the same thing. I love them dearly and will be by their side but if they ever commit a crime I expect them to do the time.
Maybe a little time in the slammer will give her and other celebs a wake up call, that just because they are famous and rich they can't always get away with breaking the law.
Maybe her next movie is about bitches behind bars and she's doing research for that too

I think she was probably on drugs when she did that. Nontheless, I don't expect her to get too much time, if any.

I just read the update on CNN, and the prosecutor won't seek jail time when she is sentence in DEC.
That is pretty pathetic because if someone like you or me were to steal that much we would defiantly get jail time. This is why so many celebs do what they do because the know the chances of getting jail time is slim.

I do have one question to ask in her defense. Why does she have to pay restitution when she never left the store with the goods?
I can see her paying fines (deserves her right),but I was always under the impression, you only paid restittution when the goods taken were not recovered. Or if they were recovered they could not sell them like new.
Maybe it covers the cost of the store security processing her and court fees?
