So, who wants to try and say that these numerous outbreaks of ebola and ebola virus being found in water supply isnt a result of some secret government virus project and they flushed some samples by mistake.

Is that something like wild-ecoli?

They found ecoli in the water in the town of Brock Saskatchewan... it's now known as Brockecoli

Okay..so I meant ecoli...
but its the government I tell you!

They want to turn us into the next Mexico!

First it is the Russian Weather machines warming out climate, then...DONT DRINK THE WATER!!

I think you had it right Bomb when you said EBOLA (http://www.bocklabs.wisc.edu/outbreak.html). That's the nasty virus from Africa that movies have been made about.

E-coli is a food born bacteria first discovered in the human colon. You Sasketoons would be well advised to wash that sheep thoroughly before you fuc.. er, I mean eat it. :p

bob

So you would be happy if there was no ecoli in your body?

Nope...have never read it. Besides, wasnt that some idiot accidentally dropped some and filtering vents were left open?

This is in the actual water supply that these super cold flu germs are being found. I think it is all a big test posibly as well...

Ok I just have to jump in here and say this, nothing to do with the question, but I've been here long enough to know it doesn't have too....lol

All this germ talk...all these sterial (?) conditions that the health department is going on about...ok so you keep it clean, but you kill good bacteria along with the bad when you apply bleach to everything. Our systems should be able to handle a certain amount of these evil things, what we have done is made it so clean that when something gets into our system (that 20 or 30 years ago wouldn't have killed us), now kills us or causes us serious harm.

I have used a wooden cutting board all my life and I am still alive, my mom used one now they say we could die if we don't use plastic cuz the bateria won't stick to it and cross contaminate it, what ever happened to good old soap and water?

HAL9000
08-13-2002, 11:40 AM
Sterile... HA... just watched a show the other day about bugs and how much is considered "acceptable" in the foods you buy at the store.

A couple examples;

2 whole maggots in a can of crushed tomatos

Up to 6, whole or diced maggots in a can of sliced mushrooms

Up to 23 insect pieces in a box of macarroni and cheeze.

YUMMY!

Bomb #20

Wooden boards are just as safe as plastic ones (and easier on your knives than plastic) as long as you, like you say, use soap and water. Some restaurants in town here, that shall go nameless, hav a habit of not using them though and there have been a few problems.

Ok so what about radiated meat...All the "fear" people seem to have...I LOVE my meat dragged across a super hot grill, and sent to me. I would purchase it if they offered it, just to be on the safe side, because I eat it almost raw....except chicken and pork (although I do like my pork rare too, but its to easy to get sick from it)
Its like the hormone thing and vegis...I have a theory about the recent rise in cancer and other deasises (just to lazy to look it up sorry) We now know (most of the time ) what is killing people 30 to 50 years ago people pretty much died and they didn't keep track of the what ofs...the population was smaller as well. Who's to say that the same percent of people weren't dying from the same things they are dying from today?

I am a firm believe in the idea that the human digestive system has become so severely weakened, due to "cooking" our food, that eventually all we will be able to eat is cooked and boiled down mush or refined capsules of the necessary elements required to sustain life.

When I order a steak at a restaurant that I know can cook a steak properly, I always tell the waiter "Knock the horns off and spank it!"

After all, what did man do before he discovered fire adn subsequently cooking meat? He ate it RAW.

Japanese restaurant called the Tepenyaki.
$36 each time...but the boss paid for it ;)

Quartzhunter

I can cook a perfect steak for me...the fat has to be cooked enough to get the juices flavor thru out the steak and the meat warm but not nessasarly cooked. I think that is the "searing" process....so do you think its ok for them to nuke the meat for saftey reasons or are you scared you will get what ever it is people think they will get from it ?

Alan...stop reading...we are over sterilizing...that is a large part of the problem..our bodies have natural ways to deal with "most" (not all) of the icky stuff...that with a little elbow grease worked for a very long time...now its sooooo clean that we are loosing the natural stuff that kills off the bad stuff..

actually it is pretty safe to eat steak rare as long as the outside is cooked a bit. Since it is a solid piece of meat the bugs are only on the outer layer of the meat. The real problem is with ground beef because more surfaces are exposed to bugs. burgers are not a good idea to eat rare.

You'd be suprized at what people ask for...do you realize that Denny's only carries A-1..I remember when you could get damn near anything in a resturant...we don't serve any sides that contain mayo...EVERYTHING is frozen or dried...scrambled eggs don't come in the shell any more they come in a bag labled "egg product" all the hash browns are rehydrated...with the new health codes/scares all your breakfast houses are almost MD's without the drive thru's...The expense is amazing and there are no "hold times" to speak of...mayo products can only be held for 24 hrs then tossed...meat has a 12 hr hold time....its unreal...I am suprized that the human race wasn't kelled off by some fucking bacteria 20 years ago...if you listen to the health departments now....its is so much fucking bullshit....so when you go out to eat you are safe (as it should be) but it is driving the cost of bussiness thru the roof....and the choices you get are getting smaller and smaller all the time....to keep a grip on the operating costs...

Opps look at that typing....had enough coffee today!
